New rules for the issuance and use of "golden" residence permits and the UAE's so-called "green visa" have come into force. Brief details are below:

- New five-year tourist visa allows tourists to stay in the country for up to 90 consecutive days;
- The UAE Gold visa holder can sponsor family members and domestic staff without a limit on the number of employees;
- The investor's relatives may remain in the country even after the death of the head of household, as long as their residence permit is valid;
- The requirement to stay outside the UAE for 6 months is abolished. When renewing the residence permit, the foreigner has six months instead of 30 days;
- A five-year green visa for skilled workers, self-employed and investors is introduced, as well as a special visa for job-seekers.
