São Tomé and Príncipe Unveils Citizenship by Investment Program with Dubai Hub
Effective August 1st, the program offers second citizenship in 6 weeks via Dubai-based PPP. From $90k donation + $5k fee (single applicant).
Vanuatu has its own national currency, the vatu (VT). The VT was introduced in 1981 and replaced the New Hebrides franc, which was the common currency under the joint administration of France and Great Britain. This currency has no small monetary units, such as cents or pennies, which is a rather unusual feature among world currencies.
The official currency of Vanuatu is the vatu. This currency plays a key role in the country's economy, providing stability and facilitating domestic and international trade.
The history of Vanuatu's currency began in 1982 when the Central Bank of Vanuatu issued 100, 500 and 1000 vatu banknotes, replacing the previous currency, the New Hebrides franc. This was a significant step in the formation of the national identity of the newly independent state. In 1989, the 5000 vatu banknote was put into circulation in response to the growing economic needs of the population. From 1993, the Reserve Bank of Vanuatu took over the issuance of banknotes. Continuing the expansion of the money series, the 200 vatu banknote was introduced in 1995, adding to the series of existing banknotes and strengthening the country's monetary system.
