The process of the Schengen visa application will soon become entirely distant for UAE residents. It is going to be conducted via a special online platform. This was announced by the Council of the EU on Monday, 13 November.
This update will let applicants escape the step of attending consulates. Also, there will be no need in a sticker in passport. Thus, the process will be significantly simplified.
Details. People are supposed to upload their documents and its copies with biometric info as well as pay fees online. In case of approval, a person will get a cryptographically signed barcode ready for being printed or saved on the device.
Exclusion. Individuals who apply for the first time and those who hold a new passport or modified data are to attend consulates in person, though.
